— Welcome, I'm Crystal

Meet Crystal

I am a community-rooted, equity-focused, barrier breaking, rapport building, change agent school counselor.

My mission is to empower schools and school counseling programs to excel in serving K-12 students.

Crystal Jordan is a native of Roswell, Georgia by way of Hartford, Connecticut who self-describes as a community-rooted, equity-focused, barrierbreaking, rapport-building, change agent school counselor. Staying true to her Georgia upbringing, she earned her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism from Georgia State University and her Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Professional Counseling with a specialization in School Counseling and Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) in Professional School Counseling degrees from the University of Georgia. She has spent the last 10 years in the K-12 education sector as a high school counselor, serving in both the state’s largest and 2nd largest school districts.

With that started out as a simple goal of surrounding herself among fellow young Black professionals with a heart for civic engagement in the metro-Atlanta area, Crystal joined the Urban League of Greater Atlanta Young Professionals (ULGA-YP) in September of 2019. Through ULGA-YP, she has gained that and so much more; from being an active general body member and committee member within the Communications and Membership Committees to then the Communications Committee Lead Deputy and most recently serving on the chapter’s Executive Committee as Parliamentarian, Acting Communications Chair, and current Chapter President. However, it is her passion for community engagement and the will to see the inequities among members of her community eliminated that drive her advocacy efforts on a daily basis.

Outside of her commitment to #TheMovement, Crystal serves on the Georgia State University Young Alumni Council (GSU YAC) and VOX ATL Board of Directors and enjoys traveling, live concerts & sporting events and spending time with her family and friends.
